Veterans’ names added to Patriots Peace Memorial in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WLKY News)

Veterans and their families gathered Monday at the Patriots Peace Memorial on River Road as the names of two U.S. servicemen were added.

Two glass plates with names

The memorial exclusively honors military members who lost their lives in the line of duty in non-combatant circumstances.

Second Lt. William Joseph Martin IV from Louisville and Sgt. Ronald David Brubaker from Pennsylvania were honored.

“To realize so many service personnel lose their lives outside of combat and that there’s a place to honor them is what is really special about today,” said Randy Brubaker.

Each patriot is honored with a personalized glass plate, replacing a brick in the memorial’s structure.
